Schools for Health
Information and Communications Technology (ICT); School Quality Improvement and Capacity Building for implementing “Schools for Health” Project
Project Overview
Smart Processes has provided a range of services in framework of "Schools for Health" project. The project focus is on enhancing the health and well-being of schoolchildren aged 6 to 16 by integrating Information and Communications Technology (ICT) within the educational framework.
The project’s objectives align with the need to effectively address behavioral risk factors associated with non-communicable diseases (NCDs) and to equip schools with the necessary tools to manage health emergencies, including the ongoing challenges posed by COVID-19.
Key Objectives and Services
Smart Processes has delivered a comprehensive suite of services to achieve the following specific objectives:
Skill Development: We increased the skills and knowledge of schoolchildren regarding the prevention of behavioral risk factors associated with NCDs and provided coping strategies for health emergencies through digital tools and training for teachers and school staff.
Empowering Educational Staff: We have strengthened the roles of teachers, school doctors, and school directors in health promotion, utilizing digital applications to enhance their effectiveness in these roles.
Capacity Building for Healthy Practices: Our training and capacity-building activities have raised awareness among school staff about healthy behaviors, hygiene measures, and the creation of safe environments for students.
Promoting Children's Health Engagement: We have enhanced the capacities of schools to engage children in health promotion activities, encouraging proactive involvement in their own health and wellness.
Support for Vulnerable Populations: Special focus was given to developing and optimizing applications that cater to children with special needs and those from vulnerable and marginalized backgrounds.
Digital Health Messaging: We implemented a social media communication strategy to deliver impactful digital health messaging, ensuring that vital information reaches the intended audiences effectively.
E-Learning Platform Development: Our team enriched the e-learning platform, allowing for the development of tailored courses for educators to further their understanding and abilities in health promotion.
Collaboration with Local Authorities: We collaborated with representatives at both national and local levels to facilitate e-education sessions for school staff, ensuring widespread access to health-related education.
Monitoring and Evaluation Tools: We optimized digital monitoring and evaluation tools, enabling efficient reporting and assessment of project activities, thereby ensuring accountability and continuous improvement.
Emergency Communication: Our initiatives included the delivery of digital messaging in emergency situations concerning the health of schoolchildren, teachers, and parents.
